NCBC PLAYERS HAUL IN SILVER POINTS AT DISTRICT 15 STAC: Players throughout Oklahoma participated in District 15's semi-annual Sectional Tournament at Clubs from April 3-9. Royce Herndon and Charlie Scallon tied for 5th/6th in Flight A in the district Wednesday night, while Bonnie Lightfoot and Belinda Rogers finished 6th in Flight B and won Flight C. But the big local news of the week was from Friday morning, where Tony Maffucci and Jean Callahan put together a massive 71.53% game. They won the District in all three flights--A, B, and C, winning themselves an amazing 13.80 silver points in the process. Not surprisingly, they were also Norman's leading point winners for the STaC. Way to go everyone, especially Tony and Jean! Complete results for the STaC can be found here.
4 STATES, CANADA REPRESENTED AT 2008 NLM SECTIONAL: 52 tables representing Oklahoma, Kansas, Texas, Arkansas, and British Columbia (!) participated in the 4th Annual "Springtime in Norman" Non-Life Master sectional tournament at the union on March 15-16. Congratulations to Patrick Keating who was the top winner among NCBC players and to Mary Robinson and Ann Crocker for winning the Welcome to Duplicate Game! Complete results for the sectional can be found here.
MASTERPOINT RACE 2008 RETURNS!: With the start of the new year, it will once again be possible for us to keep tracks of the club masterpoint race for 2008. (See the link at left to see who's winning.) Please note that although we will be displaying results from the Midwest City and Friday DBC games when possible, points from those games will not figure into the listed masterpoint total which represents only points won at NCBC.

ACBL-WIDE INSTANT MATCHPOINT GAME HELD AT NCBC: 8.5 tables, including guests from Edmond and Oklahoma City, competed on Wednesday, September 19th, for the one chance each year to win a gold masterpoint at a club game. Charlie Scallon and Royce Herndon won the gold point for the North-South pairs, and John Eyster and Erin Cooper won the gold point East-West. It is the first gold point for both John and Erin! Way to go!
NORMAN SECTIONAL A SMASH HIT: With 105 tables over the two day sectional, Norman's 1st open sectional in at least 30 years exceeded even the most optimistic attendance forecasts, including the stunning Saturday afternoon session that saw 22.5 open tables, 10 tables in the 199er pairs (more than Oklahoma City had in any 199er game at its last regional), and 3 tables in our Welcome to Duplicate 0-5 pairs. Congrats especially to Laurie McCullough and Nancy Bulow of Norman who won the Welcome pairs. Rick and Carla Chew, June Moffatt, and Mary Atkins of Norman came to Sunday Swiss hoping to have a 0-20 game, but when we didn't, bravely entered the 199er Swiss--and in three matches, recorded a win (by a LOT) and a tie! See the results here.
